About The Pinole Project
The Pinole Project is a Mexican-American Food Company.
Our abuela (grandmother) Adela was a mighty woman. She'd always say, "Pinole will make you strong." She would add Pinole to many of her recipes, including oatmeal. We celebrate Adela with Pinole Chia Oatmeal!
She was inspired by the Tarahumara of Northern Mexico who eat Pinole to fuel long distance runs.
Pinole is an Aztec Superfood made of high protein and fiber chia seeds and non-gmo heirloom corn. Our Pinole is grown on the independent, sustainable farms of Oaxaca, Mexico.
Pinole + Oats
We make Pinole Chia Oatmeal by combining high protein & fiber chia seeds, heirloom corn and cinnamon with gluten-free oats for the ultimate breakfast upgrade.
Our Mission
The Pinole Project's mission is to build bridges by sharing Mexican food, history, and culture. We grow when we invite new friends to our table.
My grandparents showed me what it means to live a meaningful life. They worked so hard on their small ranch in Chihuahua, Mexico to make ends meet.
My grandfather, Arsenio Jacquez, developed a close relationship with the Tarahumara people of Northern Mexico.
He served as an interpreter for them for many decades.
The Tarahumara, who are known for their long-distance running feats, eat Pinole for energy.

My grandmother added Pinole to her slow-cooked oatmeal, called avena, to give it an extra boost! I still salivate whenever I think about it.
Her recipe inspired Pinole Chia Oatmeal.
Preserving my family’s legacy and perpetuating Mexican-American food, history, and culture are incredibly important to me.
Pinole's Benefits
Pinole is an Aztec Superfood enjoyed all across Latin America.
Made from non-gmo heirloom corn. The dried corn is then ground and mixed with spices, such as cinnamon. Sometimes chia seeds or sweeteners, such as piloncillo (unrefined whole cane sugar) are added.
Pinole is still eaten today by the Tarahumara, an indigenous community living in Northern Mexico. Tarahumara runners are known for their long-distance running abilities.
My abuela (grandmother), Adela, always added Pinole to her recipes, including oatmeal! Her recipe inspired Pinole Chia Oatmeal.
